Part 1&2 of 3 Kids Room Remodel

We have been working the past month on our first big house project at our new home since moving in mid to late June of this year. Since we are welcoming a new member of our family in less than 3 months we figured we should start with the room our Kids will soon be sharing!
Part 1 was my main project where I undertook sewing floor length Curtains for the first time ever for me! It was a exciting adventure and I am looking forward to undertaking another sewing project again soon! Here are a few pictures of the fabric and how it turned out! :)
I apologize for the way the lack of clarity of the pictures as I used my phone.

A up close of the front and back fabric I chose and the end result of the curtains.

Part 2 was Mateo's main project which was building what will one day be a toddler bunk bed but will be used presently as Lucas's bed until the bunk bed portion is needed. Here are a few photos of part 2.

 Purchasing our Supplies!

Sanding down the wood after cutting it!

Cut, Sanded and drying from the staining process!

 Putting it together!

Lucas was excited to be apart of the experience!

 Almost Done!
 The End results!

One day we will finish the top portions so another twin mattress can fit above on the top bunk. Now we gear up for part 3 which is painting and decorating the room! So glad to be able to experience these fun  adventures as a family and looking forward to the final step being finished!

A New Beginning

I have decided to jump back into the blogging world with a new look and hopefully some renewed vigor for making this a place to share our life with others!
We have a lot of changes coming up in our lives and I am excited to see how the year unfolds! One of the biggest changes we are currently undertaking is the FOREVER long, VERY painful house buying process! Equally exciting and terrifying at the same time.....
But after almost 3 years of apartment living we are both so ready to get into our own space! No more people jumping on our head at all hours of the night and day, or people below you thinking you actually wanted to jam with them to their own very annoying music, or the little kids catercorner from us who like to run around knocking on everyone's door, or the kids next to us who like to rattle my pictures on the walls by bouncing their basketball up and down right outside my door, or walking up all those steps every time you go grocery shopping...... Oh yes.... The joys of apartment living.
However, we are thankful for the convenience our apartment has afforded us these past 3 years as we have been close to friends and family and work which has been such a blessing. But the seasons change and the Bible is clear there is a time for everything and our time here is coming to a close. In some sentimental ways I will be sad to say goodbye to our first "home" where we spent our first Christmas together, brought home our baby boy, where he learned to crawl and walk, and where he will spend his first birthday but I know equally exciting memories will be made in our new home. We will laugh and cry, make mistakes and forgive each other, grow and change, and God will continue to provide and strengthen us as we begin again and make this house our Home.
